Highland Millworks began building cylinder bands in 1992 in a barn behind the home of Joe McGrath. As the founder of Highland Millworks, later shortened to Highland, Joe was a visionary who recognized the need for a precision set of bands manufactured to tight tolerances, protecting the diver's cylinder manifold. Joe was unwilling to sacrifice quality at any step of the process; from material sourcing to bending, welding, and packaging. The Highland name became synonymous with quality. Over the years, Joe added other items to the Highland product line, products that complimented his precision cylinder bands.
Sadly, Joe passed away in 2008. Prior to his passing, Joe sought out XS Scuba to acquire the Highland name and the art of building quality cylinder bands. We were honored that he recognized
XS Scuba for our attention to details, quality, and innovation.
Since then, we have been slowly and methodically, expanding the Highland product line. We engage the technical diving community, we listen, we observe. We continually ask how we can make existing items better, and what new items can be developed to solve problems and advance the art, and the science, of technical diving.
Looking forward, we commit to you, that all the products carrying the Highland name will continue to maintain Joe’s tradition of design excellence for the discerning technical diver.
